After 7 years being here.. somehow I have never managed to be here christmas.. or was too busy preparing to gallivant to another country that I never noticed christmas. This time, me and my roomate went to see the national christmas tree in front of the white house. I had done this last year with my cousin, but during the day and the tree wasn't much to look at. This year after talking to Ioana who promptly said "You need to go at night! If not you will not understand anything!" Ha ha ha.. that woman sure has a way with words..

So here is the christmas tree all lighted up. No pics of me since I am stressed out, and in all my pics I look short, fat and ugly so.. only trees okay..

Wuhoo... with the white house. Also.. we were walking to the back.. it was freezing.. of course we had to pick an EXTREMELY cold day to go out and watch the tree. And then we found this pit where they were burning yule logs.. apparently it is a christmas tradition.. don't ask me too much.. I wasn't reading any of the placards with explanations.. I was like - WHOA.. fire.. WARMTH! -- MUST GO THERE!... after heating up for about 10 mins.. listening to Christmas carols.. they started to replenish the logs using a small tractor.. it was fun to see.. the funny part was that there were these bunch of kids who were so excited to see the logs fall.. they were like.. AAAA! AAA!... ha ha ha.. as if they were riding a roller coaster or something.. I got a video of it.. Enjoy!!
